- Kallima inachus is a genus of butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It is a large butterfly with overlapping front and hind wings that resemble dead leaves in shape and pattern. The front and hind wings are both slightly semi-elliptical in shape, with a cusp opening at the top of the wing diagonally to the outside, and a backward cusp extending between the hind and outer edges of the hind wings. The dorsal surface of the wings shines dark blue, purple-blue or light blue, depending on the season. The ventral surface of the wings is leaf-colored, with a dark brown horizontal line from the top corner of the front wing to the hip corner of the hind wing at rest, plus several oblique lines, resembling leaf veins; its color varies a lot, with yellow-brown, brown and red-brown.
